Meta War

Bloggers, Bloggers, Bloogers, pleeeeeeze!

The blogsphere is awash in feints and furies today. We have Howie Kurtz (from the comfort of his castle in D.C.) complaining about the hostage, Jill Carroll, held captive for three months, and being taken to task (rightly so) by E&P
Washington Post media columnist Howard Kurtz, surprisingly, weighed in Friday in a Web column raising serious questions about Carroll's interviews, even while admitting she might have been "shell shocked" when she gave them. His admission, "perhaps this is unfair," did not seem to deter him.
and FirstDraft. And we have TBogg exposing to great peals of snark Jeff Goldstein's meltdown
...to which protein wisdom replies, "wait, there's something called a "YearlyKos Convention"? Christ. They'll probably be enough tinfoil at that thing to grill up a couple thousand ears of corn."
referred to by firedoglake.

I have no problem about any of this except to note that, interesting as it is, these episodes are distractions from the monumental debate going on in our country about the Bush's usurpation of power and adds camaflouge thrown up by Republicans.

OOPS! April Fool.

(Why didn't I think of that when I started this post? Getting old. A senior moment.)

However, as an antidote, I recommend, once again, AL's post on Glenn Greenwald, The President's "good faith" defense.
