It's very difficult to veiw pictures of kids in the Iraq war zone.
When I look at stuff like this, I have to wonder just what the f--k is going on in Bushland, Republand, and last but not least: the religous right.
I used to think that Bill Maher's comment about religion was over the top, but I am beginning to rethink that one.
Last night, I watched some snips of Bush doin' his 'against stem cell research' routine, followed by Koppel's Nightline where advances made by S. Korea in that area were discussed. During Nightline, I was able to surf over to PBS for Frontline, and there was a story about a group of soldiers in Iraq. It was interesting to say the least.
More importantly, there is a movement among some of the top scientists in our country are leaving due to the restrictions on such research. Aka 'brain drain'.
This past semester, my Calc professor announced at the end of the semester that he was moving to Greece. His experience with American students is abysmal he said. American students on the whole are not into learning as much as foreign students are.
We had many discussions about that, about the Republicans total abuse of power and what it is doing to our country.
Sigh...I could go on and on but I am already off topic and getting worked up, so maybe I should put together a post eh?
By the way, the things I have just mentioned play into that discussion you brought up about modern kids IQ's. I have thought about that post every day since you brought it up.
I'll try to wrap it all up in one big post and see if it makes any sense.
