Poor Children Cheer Tax Cuts

Children today welcomed the House vote to preserve tax cuts for the very wealthy. They said that they didn't need the medical care that had to be abolished in order to pay for the cuts. They joined students who were unable to get loans in praising the foresight of the rich pigs who were benefiting from the cuts since they liked ham sandwiches and knew that they would be thrown a bone. Doctors that depended on Medicaid were confident that they could recover costs out of the thin air that now emanated from Capitol Hill after all the wind bags had used what was there up. So Sad.
WASHINGTON - The House voted Thursday to preserve tax cuts for investors through the rest of the decade, safeguarding the centerpiece of the Republican tax agenda in a $56 billion package of tax breaks.

The bill, passed 234-197 along mostly party lines, would keep the 15 percent top tax rate for capital gains and dividends in place in 2009 and 2010, two years after their scheduled disappearance at the end of 2008.(emphasis added)
It was noted with some irony that $50 Billion was exactly what was cut from Medicaid, Student loans and School lunches. Republican Congressmen and women were heard to say:
"Let them eat cookies."

Just thought I'd let you know Dr. that I think the Bush Administration should be tried for treason or worse....Anyways, I am 28 and I was raised a democrat although I don't claim any party affiliation. Vic Snider in Arkansas seems to be one of the only politicians worth a damn anymore. But people my age don't vote and if one looks at what we have grown up seeing on top of the fact that public schools mostly just teach kids conformity and how to take test good then maybe it's understandable. Anyways, I think no matter what age a person is most of them in the good ole USofA are sleepwalking their way thru their lives. People believe the craziest stuff! And the Media in America doesn't help anything. I wonder how many of them wonder each day why it is that all the newspapers in those machines say the same things (basically) no matter if they are a Dallas paper, New York, etc. Hummm.......Anyways, I liked your blog. I just started mine the other day and I came across yours after reading a sea of blogs written either by teenage kids posting the intimate details of their sex life or brain-dead housewifes speaking out against monsters like Cindy Shehan. Your blog is a breath of clean air. Thax,Danika

Danika,
Thanks for your kind comments. I am very worried as are some of the others in our little blog community (Pepper Farm, MarkFromIreland, Recidivist, etc.). The most frustrating thing is trying to do something about the awfulness. I'll visit your blog.
