Alright, all you wisacres out there:
Why are we having so many hurricanes?
Why is the greatest hurricane of all time at the end of October?
What is going on?
An internet nickle for the correct answer.

I think we're just going through a normal cycle Doc. (not to raise your ire or anything)
I don't believe in the terms 'global warming' per se, but I do believe that the human animal is having a negative effect on our atmosphere and there is enough science to support that.
Back when I worked in civil engineering, the simple act of leveling a land mass and paving it over with a parking lot seemed very non eco-friendly to me. You have curb and gutter, and all of the drainage structures that collect water and dump it somewhere else in a concentrated area, which is not how it came down, and not how nature dispersed it once it did come down.
I figured after x number of parking lots, both huge and small, there would have to be some sort of balance achieved by the natural processess. If we collect and concentrate, then certainly the evaporation would be concentrated to a point, and the natural saturation and dispersion would no longer exist for those areas.
Couple that with greenhouse gases, the amount of heat generated by a parking lot and all of the parked cars with the windows rolled up, and other human caused geographical disturbances, to me it spelled a recipe for more violent and fierce weather patterns. Nature 'righting itself' so to speak.
The reason I suggest at the beginning of this post that it's a normal cycle is because we are a part of nature so our effects on the atmosphere are natural, but that does not mean that those effects are conducive to our existance.
It's quite natural for me to consume tequila, but not necessarily good for me.
Wisacre enough for ya?
Thanks, RJ. I really do wonder about global warming, though. It may not be "natural" to have a class 5 hurricane in October. Also, Florida may soon become unlivable. At least if you're human and not an alligator.
