Strike Two

The Downing Street Memo was Strike One. Amnesty International is Strike Two, and resulted in this highly interesting statement:
George W. Bush:

"It seemed like [Amnesty] based some of their decisions on the word and allegations by people who were held in detention, people who hate America, people who had been trained in some instances to disassemble - that means not tell the truth. (emphasis added)

And so it was an absurd report. It just is."
In this week of Deep Throat it is the highest of ironies that W has been caught dissembling AND displaying his profound ignorance of the English language. If anything has been disassembled its the U.S. Constitution. (I suspect the Europeans rejected theirs because they saw how useless a document it has become.) And, even spell check wouldn't have saved him on this one.

And Strike Three?

Well, Dr. C, since you're wondering what happened to your country, let me open your eyes to part of the answer. It used to be that people had respect for the truth and didn't just go about making accusatory remarks without first investigating the merit of their claims. But now, we have thousands of people like yourself who think they're smart enough to put "Dr." in front of their name, but who can't see the accuracy of a simple statement because they are blinded by their dislike for the person making the statement.

These people, like yourself, look for opportunity to poke fun, to prop themselves up by putting others down.

Here's my rebuttal to your insinuation that George Bush doesn't understand what the word "disassemble" means. One of the definitions is to "break up." Al-qaeda and other terrorist organizations are taught to "disassemble" the truth. Is that similar to "not telling" the truth?

Now, since you don't seem to be capable of higher reasoning (as is evidenced in your evolution posting.. sheesh, talk about a stretch) let's look at these two statements: 1) "disassemble" the truth, and 2) "not tell" the truth. Do they mean essentially the same thing? They're not identical statements. There are probably some small differences in connotation (one is more active, one more passive), but they are essentially equivalent. Therefore, "disassemble" in this context, serves the same purpose as "not tell."

George W Bush is able to distill the word "disassemble" down to something even a simpleton like yourself can understand. But the effort was obviously lost on you. I guess George is just too smart for you.

Al-qaeda is shrewd enough to know that accusing America of wrongdoing even where there is none, is often very productive in hurting America's reputation. It's all an act. Perhaps your ignorance of the truth is an act as well. Perhaps you knowingly make caustic inventions about George Bush's literacy and post them on the web in order to hurt his reputation (or maintain it among those with your narrow mindset). Not because he's wrong, but because you don't like him.

See any similarities? Probably not. That sort of higher thinking aludes you.

mikey, I had a bad day but your post just made it better. I haven't had so many chuckles since the Marx Brothers "Night at the Opera." I don't have a Doctor in front of my name because I'm smart, though I am that, its because i studied long and hard, both in graduate school (PhD) and medical school (MD).
Come by anytime and give me some more laughs.

Glad I could at least make your day a little brighter. Laughter is good medicine as you no doubt know!

I don't expect you to be able to provide any re-rebuttal to my comments. You're smart enough to know that you can't.

Just so you know, I get a lot of amusement out of your supposed conclusions.
